The Tumbledryer Babies is the solo project of Andrew Moore, a DIY bedroom musician from Southend-on-Sea. Writing pithy pop songs at a rate of knots, Andrew has self-released dozens of albums since he first started writing solo material in 2008. He has worked with his fair share of US Alt Rock giants, having cut records with Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets) & Kramer (Daniel Johnston, Half Japanese, Ween) and opened for Calvin Johnson.
For ‘My Dinner With Andrew’ - his 50th album - Andrew has taken a rare foray out of his lo-fi corner and into a more refined power pop direction, largely eschewing the 808 in favour of drummer Bryan Styles and adding guitar solos to his usual Omnichord songs. As well as Andrew’s typical topics of inspiration like love, loss and failure, this album covers themes of morality, neoliberalism, the 1970s, entitled idiots in art galleries and TVs Sarah Lancashire.
