Mac DeMarco returns with his fifth album released on his own label. He moved to LA and set up a studio in his garage and has made another masterpiece. The album goes from tender moments, such as the McCartney esque acoustic weeper K to the joyous and uplifting All of Our Yesterdays where he openly admits to trying his hand at an Oasis style anthem. Then there's Choo Choo which is warped and funky and standout cut On the Square which goes for smooth 70's Beach Boys vibes. The production is not as lo-fi but it's still 100% Mac DeMarco. The sense of lonerism hangs over the album, not least the title of Here Comes the Cowboy.
