Southend duo Warm Boys return with their second, self-titled, album of minimal synth-drone-noise-punk. Again recorded with John Hannon at NO on an Essex industrial estate. John also contributes trumpet, along with George Cleghorn on saxophone.
Since the release of their debut Warm Boys have played shows with Modern Nature (Bella Union), Current Affairs (Tough Love), Mark Morgan (Sightings) and at Geneva's infamous La Cave. They also baffled punters by playing a 15 minute 1 song set at the annual Leigh Folk Festival (for some reason).
“The debut from this group of analogue synthesiser specialists squares the difference between ragged synth heavy post-punk forms and the kind of techno noise that the likes of Container once specialised in” - The Wire
"Warm Boys have made an album of gnarled, baleful, beautiful music and stepped "further from heaven" and into my heart". 8/10 from Norman Records
“like Laurie Spiegel toying with Fuck Buttons’ gear” - Loud & Quiet
